Job Description

A well-established organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Contractor to support their Corporate Reporting team. This contract role is ideal for an experienced professional who brings a strong technical accounting background and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.About the RoleReporting to a senior leader in the finance department, this role is focused on external financial reporting, technical accounting research, and ongoing support for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting activities. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the integrity of the organization’s financial statements and assist with resolving complex accounting matters.What You’ll Do

  • Support coverage for a key reporting position
  • Lead or assist in technical accounting research and application of accounting standards
  • Prepare and review working papers for financial statements and disclosures
  • Assist in the preparation of external financial reports and filings
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting cycles
  • Support special accounting projects as needed
What You Bring
  • Canadian CPA designation (or equivalent international designation converted to Canadian standard, such as ACCA)
  • Previous experience in Canadian external financial reporting
  • Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts and research methodologies
  • Proven ability to work through monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting timelines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
