Our dedicated professionals come together every day with passion and determination, leveraging cutting-edge science to deliver solutions that drive progress and create a more sustainable, healthier world.SummaryAGAT Laboratories is currently looking for an entry-level Laboratory Technician to join our Inorganics/Environmental lab working out of our Calgary, Alberta facility. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and assists with administrative and basic laboratory services.Please note this is a seasonal position with an anticipated end date of January 30th 2025. For this position, weekend availability is required. Shift Scheduled will be Friday - Tuesdays, evening shifts from 11 AM - 7 PM. What you will be doing:

  • Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
  • Supporting operations in the soil/salinity department for the preparation and extraction of soil samples.
  • Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
  • Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Report results.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Science Degree.
  • 0-2 years previous laboratory work experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience with MS office and LIMS.
  • Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Hand-Eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team to meet goals collaboratively.
  • Capable of standing long hours and performing repetitive tasks in physically challenging environments is a requirement for the position.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds as required.
