Job Description

What is the Opportunity In a leadership position with the Building Envelope team in Calgary, you will fulfill several key leadership roles at Entuitive. You will be a team player who internally and externally socializes what it means to be Entuitive and who positively contributes to the betterment of the firm.Act as a subject matter expert in engineering technologies, methods and practices by keeping current with emerging trends and market shifts in order to recommend and implement best practices and client-centric solutions. This role will typically oversee and manage a team either on a project level basis or within a department by taking a hands-on approach and by providing guidance to ensure a high level of project delivery and service. The role will actively promote Entuitive services across all networks within the industry and communities in which we work. The successful candidate will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture. We are looking for an individual interested in advancing their career by joining our Alberta team, supported by a well-established and entrepreneurial company with offices across Canada and in the United States. You will be responsible for overseeing small to large scale projects while maintaining a high level of service for the Building Envelope practice at Entuitive.What will you doLeadershipamp; Mentoring

  • Provides day-to-day guidance to teams ensuring to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, and creative solutions are supported.
  • Responsible for developing staff through mentoring and providing ongoing feedback along with conducting the annual review process to grow the future leaders of the firm.
  • Participates in corporate leadership by contributing to the sector/service strategy and internal committees (Technical, BD + Marketing, Production Management, QC, etc.)
Business Developmentamp; Client Relations
  • Provides creative and technical input into proposal development working closely with the marketing team to clearly demonstrate Entuitive’s capabilities.
  • Focuses on maintaining existing client relations by ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and services offered exceeds our clients’ expectations in terms of quality.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships and collaborative arrangements within the Architectural/Engineering/Construction community and other organizations to help achieve the goals of Entuitive.
  • Participate in industry related committees, events, programs, and presentations at conferences in order to increase Entuitive’s profile within the industry. Prepare and execute presentations at applicable events and trade shows.
  • Actively leverage existing client relationships, and develop new client relationships, to grow the building envelope project portfolio.
  • Actively coordinate with other individuals and groups in Entuitive for marketing and business development efforts, cross selling between disciplines, work-sharing, sharing of expertise, development of technical standards, etc.
  • Work winning is a part of the Associate role.
Technical Delivery
  • Provides technical expertise to other staff ensuring a high level of deliverables by conducting technical reviews and instilling adherence to QA through established guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage and implement Quality Control measures and activities supporting a continuous improvement mind set and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Investigate and promote the use of advanced methods, techniques, technology or processes within project teams and throughout the firm.
  • Delivers preliminary and detailed designs as required and oversees mark ups and the coordination of specifications, and terms of reference complying with relevant codes and standards.
  • Responsible for signing and sealing drawings as needed ensuring a high level of professional integrity and a commitment to high quality standards.
Project Management
  • Responsible for effective project management including managing project budgets using the appropriate cost control methods and ensuring scheduling and resourcing plans meet the needs of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.
RequirementsWhat do you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in building science, engineering, or architecture, accompanied by a P.Eng. licensed to practice in Alberta, licenses in other locations considered and asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience with a proven track record of delivering complex and sophisticated building envelope projects.
  • Knowledge and interest in building performance, thermal bridging, embodied carbon and climate resiliency and adaptation are considered an asset
  • Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen, contract negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks.
  • Superior knowledge of construction processes and building materials related to new construction projects as well as the restoration of building envelopes.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget within a large project team.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
