The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer at Startec Compressionamp; Process is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, analysis, and implementation of civil and structural engineering solutions. This position involves overseeing the planning, development, and execution of civil and structural projects, ensuring compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and process engineers, to ensure seamless integration of civil and structural elements within complex industrial projects. The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer is responsible for conducting site assessments, evaluating foundation requirements, and optimizing structural integrity to meet the specific needs of facilities systems. Moreover, the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer identifies innovative design approaches, assesses potential risks, and ensures the safety and reliability of critical infrastructure, contributing significantly to the success and efficiency of Startec #39;s solutions.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING (Weighting 34%)Engineering Designamp; Analysis

  • Develop civil and structural engineering designs for compression and process systems, considering factors like load-bearing capacity, stability, and environmental conditions.
  • Conduct structural analyses, including finite element analysis and seismic assessments, to ensure compliance with safety and performance requirements.
  • Develop and produce reports for skidded packages including lifting analysis/diagrams and foundation loads.
  • Evaluate pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, structures, concrete, and piling foundations for different equipment.
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation related to civil and structural components.
Technical Oversight
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to queries and reviewing construction drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their technical inquiries, concerns, and project requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • 15+ years experience in the design, engineering, and fabrication of gas processing facilities
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) licensure or equivalent certification.
  • Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering, preferably in the oil and gas, compression, and gas processing industry.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis. (S-Frame)
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards related to civil and structural engineering. (NBC, ABC, CSA S16-01, CSA S16-09, PIP)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
