SummaryThe Senior Project Engineer is responsible for applying knowledge, experience, training, and available resources in the development and implementation of new and novel equipment, technologies, or processes. Responsibilities
  • Coordinating and leading complex projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals, and directing the integration of technical activities to completion
  • Defining requirements and scheduling for project/program implementation
  • Accountable for mid to large-scale projects in line with department goals and management objectives
  • Developing, reviewing, evaluating, and recommending upgrades to existing equipment and practices
  • Assessing new and novel equipment technologies to determine their efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Assisting with the development of project logistics, costing, and coordinating deliverables as needed
  • Analysis of operational data with process reviews to create efficiencies, improve turnaround times, and optimize safe, reliable equipment function
  • Concept and design analysis with the creation of comprehensive, detailed installation, adoption, or new fabrication packages for construction
  • Responsible for communication and collaborating with other departments (e.g. Operations, Procurement, Marketing, HSE, EAM, etc.) to ensure project success with seamless quality and delivery
  • Conducting surveys and inspections, with a team approach to commissioning oversight and final signoffs
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
  • Other duties and special projects as required
Knowledgeamp; Skills
  • Proficiency with Autodesk CAD and Inventor software is essential
  • Experience with other 3D software, FEA, Ansys, and Safi is an asset
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to converse and collaborate with other departments spanning multi-disciplinary skillsets
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislative compliance
  • Excellent grasp of diverse, fundamental mechanical and technical concepts
  • Highly motivated, self-directed individual capable of multi-tasking and working with minimal supervision
  • Ability to create and review technical documentation, project plans, test procedures, and design documents
  • Ability to travel as out-of-office work is required
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
Education
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • P. Eng accredited with APEGA
Experience
  • 5+ years of practical experience with drilling rigs, drilling components, and drilling equipment design
