Job Description

Job DescriptionWe’re looking for a Stewardship Officer to join our growing team and help deepen relationships with our valued donors, volunteers, and partners. If you have a passion for philanthropy, storytelling, and engagement, this role is for you!As a Stewardship Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our supporters feel connected, valued, and inspired by their impact. You will be responsible for stewarding relationships with donors and volunteers, crafting compelling communications, and enhancing the donor experience through thoughtful engagement strategies.Your work will directly contribute to CAWST’s goal of reaching 100 million people with clean water, sanitation, and hygiene by 2030.This position is one of three new roles we’re currently hiring to build CAWST’s fund development team in support of our 2030 campaign and beyond. Alongside this role, we are also recruiting a Prospect Research Officer and a Senior Development Officer (GTA market focus). Each role brings a distinct focus to a collaborative new team designed to grow and strengthen CAWST’s philanthropic partnerships.When applying, please include:

Key ResponsibilitiesStewardshipamp; Donor Impact Reporting
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program to strengthen relationships and increase engagement.
  • Craft compelling donor impact reports, acknowledgment letters, and thank-you communications to showcase the difference our supporters make.
  • Coordinate and improve stewardship materials, ensuring timely and accurate tax receipts, fund utilization tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting to monitor and report on program spending.
  • Implement innovative donor recognition initiatives that align with best practices in philanthropy.
Development Communicationsamp; Engagement
  • Work collaboratively to draft engaging content for donor reports, website updates, fundraising campaigns, and impact stories.
  • Create pre- and post-event communications that enhance donor and volunteer participation.
  • Support proposal writing, grant applications, and development campaigns by crafting compelling narratives that inspire action.
  • Coordinate with Marketingamp; Communications to ensure consistent and high-quality donor messaging across all platforms.
Relationship Buildingamp; Volunteer Engagement
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and volunteers through personalized engagement strategies.
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings, attend donor events, and create strategic opportunities for supporters to connect with our mission.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align donor and volunteer interests with CAWST’s strategic priorities.
  • Support volunteer engagement efforts, ensuring that volunteers feel valued and empowered in their roles.
