Job Description

MatrixHR is currently recruiting multiple experienced Fitters. This role involves working with various heavy-duty metal-working machines and requires a strong understanding of engineering drawings, metal fabrication, and welding techniques.Location: Rocky View, ABPay: $23.00 - $33.00 / hrLength: 6 Month contractShifts: Day and Night Shifts availableDuties and Responsibilities:

  • Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials required and plan the sequence of tasks for efficient metal cutting.
  • Prepare materials prior to assembly, including laying out reference points and patterns on heavy metal as per component specifications.
  • Rig, hoist, and move materials to storage areas or within the worksite.
  • Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines such as cutting torches, grinders, drills, and punches.
  • Fit up fabrication assemblies to the welding stage, accurately torch cut main members to size if required, and detail necessary pieces.
  • Install fabricated components into the final product and complete quick precision layouts of assemblies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the trade.
  • Interprovincial trade certification (an asset)
  • Solid understanding of weld symbols and current CWB qualifications.
  • Ability to create left-hand assemblies from right-hand views.
  • Proficient in reading both English and Metric measurements and in interpreting drawings.
  • Proficient in welding equipment and accessories.
  • Proper rigging and overhead crane skills.
  • Experience with material handling of fragile tack assemblies
Candidates Must Have:
  • Must have personal transportation as the location is not accessible by public transit.
  • CSA-approved safety boots.
