Experience STARS through one of the innovative ways we share our story - https://stars.ca/podcast/STARS is looking for an experienced Technology Specialist located in at our Calgary base.Is this challenge for youReporting to the Manager, IT Critical Operations and Applications, the Technology Specialistwill be required to support, develop and maintain all critical applications in the STARS Emergency Link Centre (ELC).You will work with the ELC to ensure that technology solutions not only meet the requirements of, but also give the operational team the tools with which to fulfill their role in pursuing the north star of STARS: Critical Care, Anywhere.This position gives you the opportunity to collaborate with a highly effective team in a fast-paced environment to provide 24-hour support of Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), telephony, geospatial and interoperability solutions that are propelling STARS through the ever-evolving technology landscape.Working with the ELC will be highly-rewarding, meaningful and will make you a link in the chain of survival along with the personnel that provide critical care to patients throughout western Canada.Do you have what it takes

  • Support, maintain, develop and document technology solutions for The Emergency Link Centre and STARS. Technologies include telephony, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), GIS, call center applications, and other applications.
  • Develop business recovery plans, interoperability solutions, vehicle/aircraft tracking and back up site solutions.

  • Leadership and people management skills,
  • Highly motivated, outgoing and able to portray a professional and positive attitude,
  • Strong organizational, investigative, reporting and time management skills,
  • Assist in the orientation and training program for newly hired staff,
  • Application of organizational policies and procedures, certifications and compliance,
  • Responsibility for all escalated queries and complaints,
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team,
  • Flexible, reliable, conscientious and able to follow directions
Education and Experience
  • Call Centre and Emergency Dispatch technology experience, experience an asset
  • Application or help desk support experience
  • 5 years consistent work experience in a related technology field
  • Sound understanding of call center technologies (including telephony) and their importance to the role of emergency call processing, asset tracking and system performance measuring.
