Job Description

ARC Business Solutions Inc. is a customer-oriented information technology solution provider with proven abilities to incorporate strategy, creativity and technical aspects into business solutions. Service delivery is focused in four main technology solution verticals: Systems Delivery, Enterprise Information Management, Training and Managed Services; with industry expertise in Energy, Utilities, Government, Financial Services and the Public Sector.ARC Business Solutions Inc. is currently seeking individuals with experience as a Tester for immediate opportunities.ROLE:TesterMandatory Prior Experience:

  • Experience gathering and managing test data, executing test plans, and recording test results
  • Experience in working with data and data driven tests rather than user experience based ones
  • Experience identifying testing trends and statuses, and suggesting ways to improve the testing process
  • Experience evaluating test cycle results including logging defects and retesting as needed once system deficiencies have been addressed
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on defects to help developers and other technical resources to resolve issues
  • Experience identifying risks and issues that could prevent testing success
  • Experience communicating testing activities and results to technical team members and all relevant stakeholder groups
  • Experience working with both agile and traditional (waterfall) project delivery methodologies
Mandatory Skills:
  • Ability to follow test plans and participate in testing activities as directed by the Test Lead
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to operate with little supervision in fast paced and complex environments
  • Strong analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing demands
  • Experience working across multiple business units and organizations
  • 3+ year system testing experience
Desirable Experience:
  • Experience designing and developing automated tests that align with project objectives and tool sets, where appropriate
  • Experience working with automated testing tools
  • Experience in working with Engineering teams
  • Power Utility experience
  • OT/SCADA experience
  • GIS experience
  • ERP experience
  • Application upgrade, maintenance and replacement experience
  • Asset Management experience
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Relevant software testing certifications such as Certified Software Tester (CSTE), ISTQB Agile Tester Certifications or Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
