Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Water and Sewer Technician, reporting to the Building Infrastructure Supervisor, is a key member of the contract team at a historical remote location in the Canadian Arctic. In this role, you are responsible for the operation and maintenance of potable water and sewage treatment systems. An 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off rotational schedule with flights to and from the worksite in Nunavut leaving from Montreal, Quebec. This position requires a Drug, Alcohol and medical review prior to workKey Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate and maintain potable water systems including sump pumps, filtering system, chlorine injection system and the pump monitoring system.
  • Operate and maintain water treatment plant, performing leak surveys on distribution system, testing water quality, collecting and analyzing samples for bacteriological analysis.
  • Inspect, monitor, operate, maintain and repair the sanitary collection systems and sewage treatment systems including cleaning and flushing collection systems and monitoring effluent and storm characteristics.
  • Perform critical maintenance following system failures.
  • Implement scheduled preventive maintenance program for water and sewage systems.
  • Support and participate in corporate and contract health, safety and environment programs, policies and procedures.
