ATS Company: ATS CorporationRequisition ID: 11384Location:Cambridge, ON, CA, N3H 4R7Date: Jan 11, 2024Service Project ManagerJob DescriptionAssume responsibility for the life of the project with regards to budget, schedule and customer satisfaction, from receipt of purchase order through final installation and acceptance at the customer #39;s site. Responsible for handling both warranty and non-warranty service opportunities directly with the Customer.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:· Supervises and oversees the ATS team to complete projects efficiently according to established schedules, budgets and consistent with specified quality standards.· Primary contact for both internal and external customer with service requirements.· Works with team members of all departments to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced safely, enhanced functionality, and reduced cost.· Supports the design teams and other Project Managers in all project-related issues.· Focuses on managing risks of all projects.· Assists with preparing quotations and attend customer pre-order visits when required.· Ensures that adequate resources are assigned to all project tasks. Elevate deficiencies to department managers.· Ensures that all problems related to tasks are being addressed and tasks are progressing as effectively as possible.· Holds team communications meetings on a regular basis.· Advocates and fosters a team environment both within the department and throughout the division.· Encourages and mentors #39; employees to ensure that the build team #39;s morale and efficiency is maintained at the highest level.· Accountable for all aspects of the project including; delivery, performance to schedule, performance to budget and cash flow.· Responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction.· Follow in-house guidelines and standards to direct the daily project activities and coordinate the work of the members of the project team, through managers, to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established priorities.· Plan and monitor/control the project from the receipt of the order through delivery of services at the customer #39;s site and serve as the key customer contact.· Communicate project progress.· Attend the project status meeting as requested by the Director, Technical Services· Track all contract changes with a written Change Order Request and maintain a revision summary with respect toquot;cost quot; andquot;sell quot; value of project.· Ensure that the order received from the customer is compatible with the terms of engineering specifications in the proposal.· Create and maintain a project cost forecast comparison of budget to actual for the life of the project.Conduct regular project meetings with both in-house personnel and with the customer and record and distribute the minutes for these meetings in the prescribed form.· Act as primary customer contact for design, costing and machine-related issues.· Manage the schedule of all project phases and milestones, update schedules and initiate corrective action through the department managers.· Conduct Initial Project Build Plan meeting to confirm budgets and schedules for the life of the project.· Monitor progress of the project during design, build and installation by reviewing the performance of the team members against the project schedule. Resolve conflicts through the department managers and supervisors.QualificationsEducation:Post- secondary college diploma, engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering. Completion of or in the process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.Experience:· Must have a proven track record of providing positive leadership and coordination to a multi-disciplined project design and construction team.· Must have acted in a leading role in a variety of projects/markets on a multidiscipline team.· Must have a practical working knowledge of robots, PLC #39;s, instrumentation or other machine controls packages, sensors and pneumatics.· Preference will be given to those who possess an excellent manufacturing or process engineering background, a superior mechanical aptitude and proven trouble-shooting skills.· An ability to work effectively with customers according to deadlines and under pressure-filled conditions is essential.· In addition, must be familiar with the use of computerized word processing and computerized spreadsheets and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.· Must be able to work in a multi-disciplined engineering environment often under pressure filled conditions.· Requires excellent interpersonal skills and strong business acumen.
