Grow with us.The Opportunity The Manager, Indigenous Initiatives will manage the delivery of Brighter Days: An Indigenous Wellness Program supported by Sun Life and Weaving Threads: An Indigenous Engagement Program under the leadership of the Kids Help Phone Indigenous Advisory Council. They will manage community engagement with Indigenous youth and communities with the goal of fostering meaningful relationships that will increase awareness and access to Kids Help Phone services among Indigenous youth. The manager will do this by leading a team of Indigenous Engagement Coordinators and working directly with regional Indigenous organizations. The Manager, Indigenous Initiatives will also manage the distribution of outreach materials to communities, marketing campaigns, and other outreach activities that will advance Finding Hope: Kids Help Phone’s Action Plan for supporting First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Young People. The Manager, Indigenous Initiatives will support the Kids Help Phone Indigenous Advisory Council: recruiting and onboarding new members, coordinating meetings including travel and accommodations, processing expense claims and honorariums, and supporting ongoing engagement with council members. What You’ll Contribute:

  • Manage a team of Indigenous Engagement Coordinators
  • Deliver presentations to, and work closely with Indigenous regional organizations who wish to increase access to, and awareness of Kids Help Phone services
  • Support the Kids Help Phone Indigenous Advisory Council: recruiting and onboarding new members, coordinating meetings including booking travel and accommodations, processing expense claims and honorariums, and supporting ongoing engagement with council members.
  • Collaborate with the Special Initiatives Manager, Indigenous Initiatives in the development of Brighter Days wellness modules and other special projects.
  • Manage the delivery of Indigenous programming including Brighter Days: An Indigenous Wellness Program supported by Sun Life and Weaving Threads: AnIndigenous Engagement Program
  • Manage the inventory and distribution of outreach materials to Indigenous youth
  • Identify potential Indigenous partners, vendors, and trainers to support Kids Help Phone’s Indigenous and diversity initiatives
  • Contribute to proposal development and reporting
  • Contribute to program and service development and evaluation
  • Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g. public health, social work, education, applied social sciences, communications)
  • People management experience
  • Program management or delivery experience
  • Two years of experience supporting youth volunteers
  • French or an Indigenous language is an asset
You’ll already have the following:
  • Able to manage projects and tight deadlines in a fast paced, resource-lean environment
  • Strong sense of professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for youth
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, non-profit, and/or mental health sector
