Duties and Responsibilities:Reporting to Superintendentamp; Assistant Superintendent - the Mechanic Assistant is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of 80 of golf carts. We are looking for an employee that will show initiative and is willing to grow into a possible larger role with expanded duties down the road. We are willing to train the right candidate.

• Diagnosing problems with vehicle engines, transmission components, fuel systems, electrical systems, brakes, and other parts of the cart.
• Maintaining and repairing golf cart equipment such as batteries, tires, motors, shock absorbers, springs, windshields, headlights, brakes, steering mechanisms, and other parts.
• Performing routine maintenance on all carts to ensure they are in good condition.
• Performing regular inspections of carts for any damage or defects to ensure the safety of drivers.
• Have knowledge of purchasing parts while adhering to budgets.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance being performed.
• Working within a schedule and comfortably adapting to a situation or work environment.
• Ensuring health and safety standards are always followed to maintain a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance servicing on golf carts and some utility vehicles (electric and gasoline) is considered an asset.
• Must have a valid AB driver license or able obtain AB license.
• Experience and knowledge of all golf course equipment is considered an asset.
• Experience with other small engine repairs is considered an asset.
• Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be willing to learn and develop new skills.
• Must have own tools or the ability to purchase basic tools within a time frame to undertake the required repairs and maintenance of the equipment.

Duration: This is a Full-Time seasonal position, April to October/early November. Overtime during busy periods may be required.
