We strive in our continuing quest for the safety of each and every Newfoundlander and Labradorian.Job descriptionProvide in-class and in-car Drivers Education Training to students enrolled in driving programs/lessons.Qualifications:

  • Class 5 driver’s license
  • Minimum 5 years driving experience
  • Current code of conduct and vulnerable sector check
  • Clean driver’s abstract (no at-fault accidents within a 7-year period)
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset
  • Experience with Occupational Health and Safety Training considered an asset
The successful candidate must:
  • Partake in training program (approximately 5-6 weeks in length). Includes: 4 days in-class instructional training and shadow/co-teaching until approved
  • Pass a provincial “advanced road test” for instructors
  • Maintain a flexible working schedule consisting of weekday, weekend, and evening hours
  • Be willing to teach “Think First” Impairment Education programs and Point Reduction programs
  • Demonstrate a “student first” philosophy while instructing
  • Demonstrate ability to evaluate and record the performance of clients
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and provide instruction and in-car interventions in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with people between the ages of 16 and 75
