Job Description

CBDC Trinity Conception, Carbonear office is seeking a dynamic person to deliver the Youth Ventures Program. The program involves promoting entrepreneurship and fostering youth engagement in the Trinity Conception region covering all communities from Georgetown to Bay de Verde and Bay de Verde to Markland. The position will be virtual with some travel throughout the Trinity Conception region.The responsibilities to this position are:

  • Promote entrepreneurial awareness in the region
  • Drive positive dialogue on the importance of supporting local business
  • Develop and present virtual workshops, webinars and activities
  • Provide virtual entrepreneurial counselling sessions
  • Monitor the progress of youth activity, engagement and businesses
  • Provide virtual coaching, encouragement and guidance to program participants
  • Engage with local community groups, youth-serving organizations, business mentors and various stakeholders
  • Assist with lending applications where needed
  • Prepare reports as required
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of small business and business plan development
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Superior verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Outstanding documentation and record keeping
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, video conferencing software, G Suite applications and Social Media channels
  • Proven ability to work well independently with minimal supervision in a virtual or office setting
  • Vulnerable Sector Clearance and a Certificate of Conduct must be provided if hired.
  • CBDC Trinity Conception is committed to maintaining a safe working environment. All CBDC employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 or have an approved exemption.
  • Salary: $17 - $18.50 p/hr.
  • This is a sixteen (16) week placement with an anticipated start date of May 9, 2022.
