Job Description

Looking for experienced cooks for a casual fine dining Acadian restaurant to cook and learn Acadian Food with a twist. Aspiring scratch and sustainable seasonal property off the coast of Cheticamp, Cape Breton. A high volume seasonal restaurant and bar that continues to grow and flourish.Culinary experience – 1 – 2 yearsAvailable evenings and weekendsLine Cook Job Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  • Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
  • Cooks food items by frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
Line Cook Qualifications/Skills:
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Follows directions and instructions as given by Chef
Job Duties:
  • Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
