The AtkinsRéalis group of companies provides engineering, procurement, construction support and administration, project management and project financing services to a wide variety of market sectors.As part of the Transportation Division in Vancouver, the Ports and Marine Department specializes in marine infrastructure and coastal engineering. We provide a full range of engineering services to local, national and international clients.Location - Vancouver, BCYour role within the team:

  • Assist in completing accurate and thorough designs of marine structures, including foundations, elevated deck structures, vessel mooring and breasting dolphins, trestles, etc.
  • Assist in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs.
  • Coordinate drawing development with other technical staff and complete drawing reviews.
  • Prepare technical specifications for material procurement and installation.
  • Review project documents prior to issue to check technical compliance and accurate presentation.
  • Produce project reports, proposals, and contract documents.
  • Accompany colleagues to assist with site inspections for existing structures and marine construction projects.
  • Work and collaborate with project team members.
  • Maintain good working relationships with internal project support groups.

The ideal candidate:
  • An undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience in ports and maritime and/or heavy industrial related projects
  • Computer skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exposure to multi-disciplinary projects and teams would be an asset.
