Job Description

Linck Child, Youth and Family Supports (“Linck”) requires one (1) Court Secretary. This is a permanent, full-time (70 hours bi-weekly) position beginning as soon as possible.The successful candidate will provide secretarial, clerical and administrative services to the legal representative and staff of the child welfare section of the Agency. This is accomplished in accordance with the Linck Child, Youthamp; Family Supports policies and procedures, Ministry standards and relevant legislation.Qualifications:

  • Two-year Community College diploma in Legal Secretary/Assistant.
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Legal Secretary.
  • A working knowledge of Family Court procedure, the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, and the Ontario child welfare system.
  • Computer and keyboarding skills, extensive use of word-processing programs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate with court staff, Agency staff, counsel in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.
  • Courtesy and tact required in explaining, exchanging information.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • The ability to communicate in French is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions.
