Job Description

Full Time- with Benefits8 shifts bi-weeklyActivation Aide with Restorative Care Training or willingness to obtain. The ideal candidate for our team will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Recreation and Leisure, Therapeutic Recreation, Kinesiology or other related fields.
  • Restorative Care or similar training. Willing to provide training for the right candidate. 
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in Long-Term Care or Retirement is preferred. 
 As an Activation Aide you will be responsible to: 
  • Work co-operatively with the activation team and Physiotherapist to lead exercises.
  • Perform treatments such as applying ice packs, hot packs and hot wax with direction from the Physiotherapist.
  • Conduct, document, and evaluate programs for residents.
  • Monitor and assess residents’ mental, emotional and spiritual health during programming and provide feedback.
  • Encourage resident participation in programs and activities and assist them in attending (or ensure they are offered, the option of attending), where possible.
  • Complete all required program and resident care documentation according to department policies and procedures.
  • Attend in-service education and participate in team meetings to plan, develop and assess resident care plans.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
