Job Description

The Rope Loft is a dockside restaurant located on Chesters Front Harbor, offering a picturesque dining experience for customers visiting by Land or Sea!Job briefThe food and beverage server is the face of the restaurant and is responsible for a customers overall experience. They must provide quality service that will maintain and attract new customers.Responsibilities

  • Greet and attend to customers as they enter the establishment
  • Prepare tables with particular attention to sanitation
  • Take and serve orders
  • Be very familiar with the food and beverage menu (descriptions and pricing)
  • Make drink recommendations (wine, beer, food/drink pairing)
  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
  • Greet complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Operate a POS system, handle cash, make change, etc.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations
  • Answer the phone, kindly assist callers in making reservations, placing takeout orders as needed, or answering general questions
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol control policies
  • Ensure a tidy workspace and maintain daily cleaning duties
Requirements and skills
  • Previous experience working in a restaurant setting is an asset
  • Knowledge of wine and beer varieties is an asset
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Organized and time managed
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods
  • Able to resolve conflict and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Flexible to work a variety of shifts (evenings and weekends)
  • Access to reliable transportation
