Maintenance(Article 21.01 b)Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)Posted: May 27, 2022Salary: Probationary $19.20/hour; Permanent $20.63/hourAnticipated start date: ASAPApplication deadline: 2pm June 10, 2022About You· You are experienced in the trades field (carpentry, plumbing, general repairs, mechanical)· Enjoy a busy environment· Work as part of a teamResponsibilities and Duties· Complete general maintenance and repairs· Respond to all SSCSA owned and operated enterprises including buildings, grounds, equipment, roadways· Monthly vehicle and workplace inspections· Support scheduling of vehicles/equipment for offsite repairs/service· Work with external contractors as needed· Participant transportation during inclement weather· Lead set up/down of displays and equipment for Association functions· Other duties as required including janitorial/cleaning tasksWork Environment· Requires occasional early morning, evening, or weekend availability· Extended periods of time outdoors· Exposure to: heavy lifting, bending, stretching, climbing stairs, repetitive motions· Work from ladders & scaffolding· Potential for odors, dust, noise, tight spaces, changing temperaturesMinimum Qualifications· Possess a secondary education or equivalent· Training or significant work experience in the trades field- Willing to train the right person· Previous experience with: lawn mower, snow plow, snow thrower, power and hand tools· Prior history of working safe· Experience (an asset) working with or supporting people living with physical and/or intellectual disability· Effective oral communication skills· Clear Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Search· Driver’s license & satisfactory driver’s abstract· Class 4 driving license or eligibility to attain· Possess valid standard first aid/CPR certification· Proof of double covid-19 vaccination statusCompensationJob Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)Salary: $19.20/hr probationary, $20.63/hr position· Generous sick leave & vacation· Cost-shared group insurance plan· Group RRSP with employer contributions· Earned & Statutory holidays· Unionized workplace environment experienceJoin us!Submit both your resume and cover letter for consideration for this position.
