SSRCE encourages applicants to self-identify.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Summer Day Camp Counselor facilitates recreation programs for participants in lower elementary grades and reports to the Camp Leader. The counselor assists the camp leader in designing and implementing recreation activities within a planned curriculum. Supports for persons with disabilities in programs may be required to develop a specific program plan.Other responsibilities include: daily duties such as greeting parents and participants, supporting activities, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants, organizing equipment and supplies, preparing for activities, assisting in the distribution and collecting permission slips for outings, assisting in organizing outings and special events, participating in staff meetings, assisting and supporting the instructor during literacy instruction.Specific recreation training will be required prior to the start date of the camp and is mandatory.
