SummaryEmployer:Conuma Resources Limited#200, 235 Front Street, PO Box 2140, Tumbler Ridge, BC V0C 2W0Location:Wolverine Mining Complex Limited – Wolverine Forest Service Road, Tumbler Ridge, BC V0C 2W0Brule Mining Complex Limited – Brule Forest Service Road, Chetwynd, BC V0C 1J0Willow Creek Mining Complex Limited – Willow Creek Service Road, Chetwynd, BC V0C 1J0Position:BlasterTerm of Employment:Permanent Full TimeRate:$40.55/hourDivision:OperationsSchedule:12 hour shifts (7 days on / 7 days off)Transportation:Employee bus transportation from Tumbler Ridge (Wolverine & Brule), Chetwynd (Brule & Willow Creek) and Mackenzie (Willow Creek)Please be aware no camp facilities are available.Primary PurposeThe blast crew loads the blast holes with explosives, connect the pattern with appropriate timing, and blasts the pattern.Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely perform all tasks appointed by the lead blaster.
  • Handling explosives under the supervision of the lead blaster.
  • Fill out all company required daily paperwork.
  • Guide loaders and bulk explosives trucks to blast hole locations.
  • Load blast holes with explosives.
  • Stem/deck the blast holes with appropriate material.
  • Connect the pattern with appropriate timing.
  • Blast the pattern.
  • Assist with stocking explosives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years blaster experience in mining environment.
  • BC Blaster Certification.
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Valid Driver’s License
Skills and Abilities
  • First Aid/Mine Rescue Training is considered an asset.
  • Physically fit with the ability to perform physical labor and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn.
