Job Description

Term of App #39;t: Monday - Friday (30 hours per week)Start date: January 20, 2025Reporting to: Dean of Tradesamp; ApprenticeshipsSalary:Wages to be negotiated (non-bargaining work/non-credit).Description:Northern Lights College is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of the Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program on the Chetwynd campus. This program is intended to introduce students with the opportunity to sample a variety of trades and is designed to help students gain a clearer understanding of the standards, material, instructional methods, and academic performance associated with apprenticeship training.Contract:

  • Prep: January 20 - 31
  • Course Instruction: February 3 - March 14
  • Prep: March 17-18
  • School District Spring Break (unpaid time off): March 19 - 28
  • Course Instruction: March 31 - May 9
  • Prep: May 20 -22
Qualifications:Required:
  • Red Seal Certification in Carpentry, Automotive Mechanics, Plumbing, Electrical or Welding (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • A valid Driver #39;s License.
Preferred:
  • Adult education teaching experience (including apprentices in the field).
  • Completion or enrolment in the Provincial Instructor Diploma program or an equivalent credential.
  • Preference will be given to those who have completed formal training leading to certification.
  • Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of computer software applications (including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
