Care Centre (LTC), at the far south end of Calgary Zone in Claresholm. Reporting to the Long-Term Care Site manager, this Scheduler/Payroll clerk, provides vital support to nursing and care staff at the WCCCC. The Scheduler uses the Makeshift staff scheduling application proficiently and works within established staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent staff scheduling tasks within short timelines in a busy, high-pressure environment. Attention to detail will be crucial as you ensure that employees are scheduled appropriately, and employee’s payroll is captured in accordance with AHS policies. Leveraging accomplished, technical, and interpersonal communication skills you will enjoy providing outstanding customer service to valued clients. Your expertise will also be used to assist in the scheduling and orientation of new staff. As the successful Scheduler your key responsibilities will include: filling pre-booked and immediate shifts that result from staff vacation, leave of absence, illness and education leave, anticipating staffing needs and informing managers of shifts that require further attention, entering data for payroll, providing scheduling reports, detailing records and compiling/providing statistical information. Understanding these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will focus on developing trusted relationships, effective interdisciplinary communication with clients and prioritizing with a resident focused mindset. Required Qualifications:Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in business administration, medical office assistant), or other related fields.Additional Required Qualifications:Must have good computer skills and knowledge of programs like Outlook, & Microsoft. Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction as required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with team members. Well-developed time management skills. A superior ability to organize and prioritize. Ability to handle the physical demands of the position: Sitting occasionally for longer amounts of time, walking distances onto the units, answering phones, lifting supplies, filing. This position requires individuals to be able to communicate clearly and regularly communicate with managers and other applicable team members. This position requires knowledge of the organization, all collective agreements and operations of specific areas assigned.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a LTC or healthcare setting. Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Flexibility and ability to meet the demands of changing priorities and deadlines. A proven adaptability and positive attitude toward change. The ability to work purposefully with colleagues, partners, and clients toward achieving shared goals. 3–5 years customer service experience. Payroll experience.
