Your Opportunity:Reporting to the manager of the Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions, the Driver II position operates a variety of passenger motor vehicles in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. This position is responsible for the transportation of the Centres patients to various appointments and meetings locally, in addition to the urban centers of Lethbridge and Calgary and various other sites within the province. Other responsibilities include assisting patients and clinical staff on trips, ensuring vehicles are in safe operating order, utilizing online booking processes, maintaining vehicle repair/maintenance logs, ensuring compulsory safety equipment is maintained in the vehicles, cleaning the vehicles, participating in the development of the Centres procedures relating to patient transportation, submitting accurate expense claims, communicating arising issues to the Manager in a timely manner and maintaining respectful relationships with patients and staff. The position may require some light lifting (up to 30kg) and and times driving for long periods of time. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated safe defensive diving habits, the ability to use good judgement in adverse weather and driving conditions as well as the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Business appropriate casual dress is required.Description:As a Driver II, you will be responsible for the transportation of a range of products including but not limited to mail, pharmaceuticals, medical surgical supplies, beds, medical equipment, food, mail and linen, in accordance with accepted AHS standards, regulations and policies. You will pick up and deliver patients to appointments and other institutions/facilities. In addition, you will deliver patient trays, equipment and medical supplies to institutions/facilities.
