Job Description

Looking for a General Manager in a very fast-paced environment for a busy seafood lobster facility in South West Nova Scotia, Canada. This person must have a passion for seafood and the ability to work under pressure and work along with the COO / HR Manager & QC Manager in running the day-to-day operations of this facility and workforce. The candidate must learn and understand every aspect of the industry, from procurement to shipments of seafood, and also learn the customer procurement base to run this facility with inventory from all areas of the Atlantic Provinces and Eastern seaboard of the United States.If you desire to come to a place that is known to be the Lobster Capital of Canada and experience the wholesome air, pristine beaches, and water and be just three hours, by vehicle from Halifax Airport, where real estate is still relatively inexpensive compared to the city of Toronto, we are open to all serious resumes that come from all races and nationalities.We have a friendly environment and have pride in what we do together as a team.   • Oversee day-to-day operations of the business
  • Develop annual budget, operational plans, and organizational targets including sales targets, projections, capital requirements, and staff requirements.
  • Initiative to be taken to profitable sales through goals, budget management, and sales forecasting.
  • Oversee tracking and costing of long and short-term inventory
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with buyers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Map out supplier networks for institutions, resource management companies, and retailers to establish a list of contacts to generate sales
  • Support and coordinate with QC Dept and HR dept in day-to-day operations of the business
  • Analyse continuously for better and quality production efficiency.
  • Maintain a positive work environment at the workplace.
Qualifications for General Manager
  • College degree in Business / Management related field.
  • Masters in Business Administration, CPA designation would be considered an asset.
  • 3 years experience in a senior leadership position.
  • Experience in management, costing, and budget control
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Control and Canadian Food Inspection Agency requirements would be considered an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of the seafood industry would be considered an asset.
