About UsSpray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) is a leading-edge sport and recreational facility encompassing 325,000 square feet, including an aquatic centre, four arenas and a curling centre, fitness & climbing facilities, an indoor turf, track, and gymnasium, and is home to several third-party tenants. SLSFSC is a not-for-profit organization and a registered charity, governed by a volunteer board of directors. SLSFSC employs over 100 employees who help make a difference in our community’s physical and social well-being. We offer a dynamic and fast-paced work environment that promoted excellence in teamwork, community building, and an innovative customer-focus. Our facilities are located in Cochrane, Alberta.About the PositionYou will deliver exceptional customer service as part of the SLSFSC dynamic service team, working within the Fitness Centre. Duties include checking in guests, providing intros & tours of the center’s facilities, and supporting a clean, safe, and sanitary environmentJob Type: Part-time, HourlySchedule & Availability: 30-40 hours per week - We are specifically seeking to fill the following schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 2:00pm-9:30pmStart Date: Mid-AugustSpecific responsibilities:

  • Assist our customers in a sincere, professional, courteous, and “above and beyond” manner.
  • Multitask interactions with customers, knowledge of programs and how to register, knowledge of membership options, answering incoming telephone calls and providing tours to potential customers.
  • Register and process customers promptly upon arrival and departure.
  • Assist Fitness Trainers & Class Instructors with class set-up/take-down.
  • Understand all aspects of the business including a strong knowledge of facility layout, programs, public & special events schedule, website daily updates, logbook notices, hours of departments & Tenants.
  • Demonstrate the use of sales techniques to effectively up sell SLSFSC programs, services and memberships.
  • Handle & operate equipment – POS, printers, photocopier & computer
  • Understand and apply all safety, security and emergency procedures including thorough knowledge of Customer Service Desk emergency procedures, and the required action plans.
  • Listen to customer complaints with empathy & act appropriately with a customer service driven response.
  • Assist the customer to make an informed choice.
  • Daily Cleaning of Fitness Centre & spaces – a heavy focus on sanitization and COVID-19 procedures.
  • Daily Maintenance of bikes & other equipment in Fitness Centre & on the track & mezzanine
  • Track monitor: Wrist band checks, make sure people are being safe and respectful to other users
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • You are a high-energy individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • You can follow guidelines and rules/job descriptions
  • You must possess excellent customer service skills, strong organizational and communication ability, and outstanding telephone etiquette.
  • Related front desk customer service experience, POS and exposure to CRM systems would be assets
  • Positive attitude, helpful manner, maturity, initiative and enthusiasm are essential.
  • Your proven track record working independently and in a team environment will ensure your success.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to stand for up to 8-hours during a shift.
  • Able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check
  • Interest in, or working on gaining certification for Fitness Training (i.e. AFLCA or similar) in order to work a dual role as a Fitness Trainer (asset, but not required)
