Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services, the Seasonal Skilled Labourer's role is to maintain the Aylesford Lake Municipal Beach and other Municipal properties.Our team goal is to provide "Quality Living through Quality Service". If you think you are up for the challenge, we invite you to consider joining us in our mission of providing municipal services to residents, businesses, and organizations in a friendly, effective and innovative manner.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide assistance performing the following duties:On-site management of the Municipal Beach at Aylesford Lake including the Public Boat Launch;Maintenance of Silver Lake and Loon Lake public access, McMaster Mill Park, Black River Boat Launch and other municipal facilities;Will be employed in the capacity of caretakers of the facilities as well as to assist Lifeguard Staff with enforcement of facility rules and regulations; andOther duties as required.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications for this position:Hold a grade 12 or equivalent;Have experience operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment: farm tractor (offset mower, front loader, and backhoe attachment), zero turn mower, chainsaws, gas trimmers and other equipment to maintain grounds;Capable of performing general labour duties i.e. shoveling, raking, clearing brush, mowing, sign post installation etc.;Have skills in one of the following: carpentry, painting, landscaping, or other;Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide driver's abstract if contacted for an interview. Access to transportation is required;You are a dependable person with strong people skills and a team player;Ability to swim, WHMIS/First Aid training, and experience with facility operations, are considered assets.Work With UsThis is a unionized position governed in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Municipality of the County of Kings and CUPE, Local 2618-01. Compensation includes a competitive salary and vacation pay. Salary will be Level 1 of the Municipal Pay Band $17.41 - $19.79.Hours of work:May - Mid June: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PMMid June - September: Alternating (12 hours per day), 4 days one week, 3 days the next.
