Company descriptionWebster Farms Ltd. is located in Cambridge off exit 14, and operates year round producing raspberries, strawberries, rhubarb, and dry beans. We employ over 100 local and foreign workers during our harvest season. We are looking for a full time, permanent, Spray Operator to work with our Farm Manager. This role requires someone who is good at multi tasking as it is a combination of operation of machinery, chemical and pesticide management, food safety records, and audit.Job descriptionResponsibilities: · Spray crops using a variety of sprayers· Maintain up to date Pesticide label management· Maintain food safety records· Maintain up to date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)· Complete Canada GAP food safety manual· Complete an annual audit of food safety with an auditor during season· Maintain up to date spray records· Collect water samples for food safety requirements· Pesticide ordering, inventory, labelling and storage· Consult with pest scout and farm manager to determine best pesticide use· Calibrate sprayers and chemical application equipment· Assist with land preparation, tillage, fertilization, and harvest· Operate bean combine· General farm duties as requiredRequirements: · Valid Pesticide Applicator Certification from the National Standard for Pesticide Education Training and Certification in Canada is required· Candidates who do not possess the Certification but are willing to obtain it are welcome (requires a 1 day course and closed book exam)· Experience operating farm or other large machinery· Attention to detail and experience in record keeping and recording· Good understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel· Valid drivers license and reliable transportation· Flexibility to work in accordance to the weather conditions· Proximity to the farm is an asset· Ability to work independentlyBenefits: · Pay is hourly and will be commensurate with experience and skills· Complete benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance· Casual dress and laid back work environment· Supportive and knowledgeable management team· Continuous training and experienceApplication deadline: 2022-02-28Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $17.00-$23.00 per hourAdditional pay:
