Job Description

Job PurposeThe Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the Sales Manager and General Manager in planning, organizing and controlling the daily operations of the New and Used Vehicle Sales Department and in measuring the performance of the employees in the department.Responsibilities

  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
  • Promote, train and assist in digital communications between sales consultants and customers
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
  • Attend manager’s meetings as requested.
  • Assist the Sales Manager and General Manager in forecasting controllable expense elements for the New and Used Vehicle department.
  • Understand, keep apprised of, and comply with federal, provincial and local regulations that affect New and Used vehicle sales.
  • Hire, train, motivate, coach, and monitor the performance of all Sales Consultants.
  • Review all Sales Consultant’s performance as shown on the Daily Sales Operating Control.
  • Recommend to the Sales Manager and General Manager the New Vehicle inventory to be carried by color, model, and equipment, based on a variety of customer and market analyses.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the use of a prospecting program.
  • Help Sales Consultant’s close deals when necessary.
  • Maintain standards for the delivery of vehicles to customers.
  • Assist in the development of advertising campaigns and other promotions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of previous management experience in the automotive industry
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s Licence
  • Clear Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid OMVIC registration
  • Strong business acumen
  • Professional appearance
  • Proficient with Reynolds systems; ability to operate PC-based software
  • Ability to sell the minimum quota according to dealership objectives
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written
  • Excellent customer service skills
