Job Description

Job DescriptionCEDA is looking for 3rdamp; 4th Year Apprentice Pipefitters for an upcoming shutdown in the Conklin area. What we Offer:

  • Wages: 3rd Year $39.00 / hour, 4th Year $44.20 / hour.Nightshift has a $3.00 / hour premium
  • Camp accommodations provided
  • Day and night shifts available, working 12hr days
  • Tentative start date: April 25, 2025
  • Shutdown expected to wrap up beginning of June 2025
Key Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:
  • Assist in Installation of new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, recirculation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
  • Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
  • Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
  • Cleans condensate traps and equipment strainers
  • Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Test system for leaks using testing equipment
  • Other duties as assigned
Role Specifications:
  • Registered Pipefitter/Steamfitter apprentice status required
  • 2+ years of experience on shutdown events or long term maintenance at plant sites
  • H2S Alive certificate, CSO or CSTS 2020amp; Confined Space entry (ESC version) required. MUST have physical certificates onsite, no digital copies will be accepted.
  • First Aid, fall arrest and AWP certifications are all considered an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license (GDL not accepted) able to provide an abstract with no more than 5 demerits in last 3 years
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test, booked by CEDA
