Job Description

Consort, Provost area

  • 3rd and 4th year apprentice
  • Read and follow drawings
  • Installation of EMT conduit systems
  • The ability to do minor inspections and testing of electrical systems with the aid of a supervisor
  • Candidates must have had exposure to the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Must have starter tools (a list can be provided)
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to conduct work while standing, bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling and reaching
  • Ability to conduct work in confined spaces, on ladders and/or aerial platforms
  • Must be comfortable working from heights
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • High attention to detail and take pride in their workmanship
Qualifications
  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certification is an asset
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license required
  • Commercial experience required
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and written reference material
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of circuitry and power distribution is an asset
