Job Description

The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in 8 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for Recreation Aide to join our The Madison Care Center in Coquitlam, B.C.What is in for you Beyond the benefits that come with working for the area #39;s leading community healthcare provider, we offer competitive wages and skill development.What does a Recreation Aide do

  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
  • Assists residents to and from programs as required.
  • Assists encourage and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provide personal care during recreational activities as required.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes, in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
  • Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Actively participates in C.Q.I. program, meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
  • Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements
  • Graduate from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program
  • Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department an asset.
  • Basic First Aid Certificate (Current).
  • Food Safe Course or equivalent (Current).
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
About us: The Madison Care Centre offers licensed and funded residential care to 137 clients, in which 96 of these beds are funded through the Fraser Health Authority. The Madisons room types include primarily single and double rooms. The building was beautifully constructed and opened in 2008.The Madison Care Centre works in collaboration with the Fraser Health Authority to offer funded beds, but we also have private pay rooms available.Powered by JazzHR
