Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Recognized under provincial legislation, the Institute has been conferred authority to grant certificates and diplomas. SIIT welcomes over 2400 students into our urban and community programs annually as well as serving over 6000 clients through our nine Career Centres across the province. You can contribute to that success while building your career.Nature and ScopeInstructors report directly to their respective Coordinator and are located across the province of Saskatchewan in various educational settings. The incumbent instructs SIIT students in the classroom, laboratory or shop environments and assists students during consultation hours. As an employee of SIIT, positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT #39;s vision, mission and mandate.General AccountabilityAs the educational leader in the classroom, instructors are responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting student success. Instructors plan, organize and implement a course or program which creates a learning environment that guides and ensures each student is successful. Instructors keep current with developments in their subject area, instructional resources and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities to suit the individual needs of their students. Working collaboratively with a team of educational professionals, instructors demonstrate a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment at SIIT. This position will require travel to various program locations or other approved work sites in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of the role.
