Job Description

Asphalt Raker Job#JCL008 JCL has an opening for an Asphalt Raker for our paving operations in Labrador. Transportation, camp accommodations and meals are provided. The current rotation is 20 days on/10 days off.Responsibilities

  • Spread asphalt using efficient techniques in a safe and productive manner.
  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labour and use of hands and tools
  • Maintain and clean job site, pick up tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an Asphalt Raker.
  • Labour experience assisting crews and operating construction equipment will be an asset
  • Strong ability and inclination to learn road construction practices
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract
  • High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision
