​Medical Arts Pharmacy is an independent pharmacy with two locations in Cornwall. We provide pharmaceutical services to individuals living in the community, residents in long-term care, retirement homes, and continuing care facilities. We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant with compounding experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, maintaining patient records, and providing excellent customer service.Responsibilities:
  • Compounding non-sterile/sterile medications (suspensions, creams, ointments, capsules).
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing compounded medications.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels.
  • Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and laws.
  • Entering, updating, and processing all data in pharmacy computer system (KROLL) in an efficient manner. (Inputting and refilling prescriptions)
  • Accurately billing prescriptions.
  • Communicating with a variety of health care professionals
Qualifications:
  • Prior pharmacy experience is an important asset.
  • Non-sterile/sterile compounding experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration
  • Possess a working knowledge of pharmacy calculations.
  • Knowledge of third-party adjudication processes and guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent with computer systems such as Kroll, POS, email, word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork and positive attitude are requirements to ensure smooth operations of the pharmacy and to embrace the family atmosphere.
Hours of Operation:Medical Arts Pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm and Saturdays 9 am - 5 pm.
