Your Opportunity:Alberta Health Services (AHS) has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a casual employee position supporting Coronation; located in the heart of east central Alberta. This position is located in a rural setting where the LPN will work within a multidisciplinary team to provide patient focused nursing care in acute and emergency environments; this is suitable for candidates with a minimum of two years nursing experience. Relevant advanced certifications and professional development opportunities are available to successful candidates. To be successful, you will have good communication skills, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently and to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. You need to have competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required, with demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Coronation has a population of around 1000 residents and serves the surrounding counties. Coronation is a sports minded community with active programs in hockey, baseball, softball, adult group fitness, swimming lessons and aquacises offered at the local recreational facilities. Other programs offered in the communities include music and cadets with a school that serves Kindergarten to Grade 12. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:The successful candidate will require: Strong computer skills. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required. Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
