Job Description

Supervisor, AccountingThe Accountant Supervisor position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the production of various financial statements and ensuring accuracy of all financial transactions. Additional responsibilities include directing account staff and participate in complex general accounting projects.Powering Vehicles, Motion, Work, and Lives since 1966.Performance Expectations· Provide monthly and yearly comparative financial information to management for planning and to foster continuous improvements.· Develop and maintain cost and profit estimates for new and existing product lines and generating monthly cost reports and trends.· Maintain and make recommendations for an adequate information system to measure financial and operational results of the plant.· Work closely with management in directing and controlling resources.· Maintain and make recommendations regarding a system of internal control.· Ensure that all positions reporting to the Accounting Supervisor are filled with the appropriate persons.· Ensure that the company’s accounting computing needs including EDI are met on an ongoing basis.· Ensure that statutory financial obligations including audit, tax and others are met.· Government filings are completed on a timely and efficient manner.· Identify training needs and train workers in job duties and company policies.· Available for special corporate assignments as requested.Credentials· Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field with a CPA designation is needed.· Minimum five years experience in related field, previous supervisory experience considered an asset.· Ability to interpret tables graphs with financial variables to keep track of financial data.· Ability to forecast revenue amounts and evaluate cost of goods and services.· Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of applicable software programs (IFS, SAP BPC and Excel).Desired Characteristics· Good presentation skills in order to present financial information to managers and provide workers with instructions.· Ability to work as part of a team and interact with accountants and others.What Linamar Has To Offer· Opportunities for career advancement.· Community based outreach supporting both local and global initiatives and charities.· Social committees and sports teams.· Discounts for local vendors and events, including auto supplier discounts.About UsLinamar Corporation is a Canadian diversified global manufacturing company of highly engineered products across global industriesamp; markets.
