CAS works to achieve provincial climate change goals through engagement and collaboration with Indigenous peoples, the provincial public sector, other orders of government, research institutions, non-governmental organizations, professional and industry associations and business and industry.The Policy Analyst will coordinate and support analysis, development and implementation of processes relating to economic evaluation and modelling of greenhouse gas and other outcomes of climate policies.Job Requirements:

  • A Degree in public administration, economics, social sciences, natural resource management, computer science or related field and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Related Experience must include all of the following:
  • Experience researching policy issues, conducting policy analysis and making recommendations (e.g., experience gathering information through research methodology, logically analyzing that information, and using it to draw conclusions and make practical recommendations).
  • Experience designing and executing complex quantitative analyses.
  • Experience writing documents for decision-makers (e.g., drafting briefing notes or presentation decks).
Preference may be given to applicants with:
  • More than 2 years related experience.
  • Experience with climate science and climate policy.
  • Experience in the analysis of datasets using business tools such as Excel.
  • Experience with how energy and greenhouse gas emissions are calculated and accounted for.
  • Experience with the interplay of the environment and the economy and sustainable development.
  • Experience with computer programming (e.g., Python, R).
