Spatial Data AnalystScientific Technical Officer 21This is a temporary opportunity until approximately February 2023. This opportunity may be extended and/or become permanent.This position can be performed from any of the following locations: Cranbrook, Kamloops, Prince George, Smithers, Vancouver, Victoria.   • Degree or higher in geomatics, resource management or related field; OR
  • Diploma in geographic information systems; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience creating, editing, maintaining, designing and developing customized spatial applications and preparing recommendations based on natural resource interpretations with keen awareness of attention to detail.
  • Experience delivering large spatial analysis projects in support of client’s business needs.
  • Experience managing projects and working both independently and with project teams.
  • Experience in a high stress environment with acute attention to detail and committed approach to a high level of accuracy.
  • Preference may be given to those with experience working with mining or land administration systems in BC.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with education and/ or work experience in any of the following:
    • Oracle
    • Postgres
    • Structured Query Language (SQL)
    • ArcGIS/ArcPRO
    • ArcGIS model builder
    • ArcGIS Online (AGOL); Arcade; Java Scripting
    • QGIS
    • Python scripting
    • Mobile device applications used in natural resource management
    • RPAS (instrument use, pre and post processing software)
    • LIDAR
    • FME
    • Image analysis
