Job Description

We are poised for continual growth across all of our business units and are continually looking to add talented individuals to support our expansion.Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor will direct/supervise cleaning plant operations, including grain cleaning, storage, special processing and shipping of grain and by-products, monitors performance to optimize results and sustain continuous improvement. Communicate daily on key operational performance, issues, and opportunities.Primary Responsibilities:· Responsible for promoting constructive working relations, positive morale, and teamwork.· Create daily planning/production schedules which consider the needs of the shipping plan, while ensuring the proper flow of processing, packaging, and shipping.· Working with Elevator and Maintenance staff to schedule staff, equipment, and resources to accomplish production plan.· Mentor staff performance to ensure company policies and procedures are followed.· Recommends measures to improve product flow, equipment performance, and quality of service.· Ensure clear documentation of production logs, records, and activities· Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to develop and maintain the plant preventive maintenance program.· Play an active role in all Health and Safety and Food Safety initiatives.· Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards and conducting regular plant, safety, and other assigned inspections.· Maintain, train, and improve upon policies and procedures which outline BroadGrain’s occupational health and safety, food safety, HACCP, and other regulatory programs. Work with staff to improve standardized operating procedures (SOP).· Assist in all aspects of human resource management including hiring, promoting, performance management and discharging within company policy· Effectively communicate with others, with respect to plant operations.· Perform other duties, as required.Qualifications:· A minimum of 5 years of grain processing experience, with a thorough knowledge of grain processing equipment.· Strong employee leadership skills.· Ability to solve problems, as they arise.· Excellent understanding of grain grading and quality.· Able to demonstrate and perform all duties on site.· Excellent judgment ability, analytical, planning and organizing skills as well as strong interpersonal and computer skills.· Ability to learn appropriate Occupational Health and Safety requirements, Food Safety requirements.· Not afraid of heights. Must be able to climb to heights to diagnose issues.· Reliable transportation to and from work.· Above average attendance will be expected.We offer a competitive compensation package and group RRSP.
