Job Description

MatrixHR is currently recruiting experienced Crane operators for a very exciting client of ours located in Halifax NS. With a crane fleet that exceeds 103 cranes with lift capacities ranging from 8 to 827 tons. Our client has the largest fleet in the region to complete projects of any size. We are looking for candidates local or within reasonable commuting distance to Halifax NS.Looking for candidates with the following types of experience:

  • Liebherr LR1700
  • Crawler crane
Qualifications:Education:
  • Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
The following Trade Certifications are required:
  • Mobile Crane Operator with a Class 1 ticket.
  • Overhead Traveling Crane Operator endorsement.
  • High standard of integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being self-motivated to be able to work without supervision when required.
All successful applicants must meet the requirements for Canadian Government Security clearanceKey Responsibilities:
  • Operate mobile and overhead cranes to lift, move, position, or place equipment and materials.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts, and load chart calculations.
  • Communicate with site leadership to determine the best placement of the crane for planned lifts.
  • Ensure that all rigging operations are carried out safely.
  • Service the hoist and swing equipment used to move machinery, materials, and other large objects.
  • Assist with the crane assembly on-site.
  • Wear company-issued coveralls and/or work wear and all assigned Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Work safely.
