Job Description

Job DescriptionReporting to the Plant Manager, the Galvanizer will operate and maintain galvanizing equipment, follow safety protocols, and ensure efficient production flow. Galvanization plant can be hot, and dirty.Key Responsibilities:

  • Galvanizing Process:
    • Prepare and clean metal parts for galvanizing.
    • Operate galvanizing baths, including dipping and coating processes.
    • Monitor and control temperatures, bath chemistry, and immersion times.
    • Inspect material for proper rigging techniques and surface preparation for the galvanization process
    • Ensure uniform coating thickness and quality of galvanized parts.
    • Packaging customer products with shrink wrap, nylon, or steel banding
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of galvanizing equipment.
    • Inspect equipment for wear and tear, and report any issues to the supervisor.
    • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications.
    • Conduct tests and measurements to verify coating thickness and integrity.
    • Document and report any defects or non-conformities.
    • Handle the customer product efficiently and effectively, lifting only up to 50lbs
    • Inspect, clean and repair quality flaws obtained from the galvanizing process utilizing wire brushes, files, and powered grinders
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Comply with environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures.
    • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of their workstations other duties as required
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
    • Suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
    • Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve production issues.
