Project Engineer - MiningPosition DescriptionJob SummaryCertainTeed Canada, Inc., a division of Saint-Gobain, has an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer - Mining to join our team at our Nova Scotia location.This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success by providing fast and sufficient support to our Canadian business.What #39;s the jobThe Project Engineer will support the Gypsum Project in Nova Scotia, a strategic project for Saint-Gobain North America, working from the prefeasibility studies and permitting, to construction and commissioning of a mine operation.The Project Engineer role will have the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager position, throughout the project period, with additional carrier development opportunities, at mine operational stage, such as leadership roles within the site and/or join the mining and mineral resources central team.- Ensure H amp;S and Environmental compliance with local, national, and company standards- Develop schedules and monitor various project tasks progress- Prepares Capex authorization requests and presents to upper management for approval- Leads multi-disciplinary engineering teams, including subcontractors, adhering to budgets, timelines, and key deliverables- Reviews and collaborate on reports and designs completed by other engineers and designers- Provides feedback and assistance on the technical aspects of the project to management- Collaborates with global internal and external experts to assure Best Practice implementation- Active in exploration and mineral claims management and permitting process; local point of contact with First Nations and local community- Provides Project Execution Plans, including Critical Path Schedules, Resource Plans, Project Risk Registers, and Budget and Variance reports- Regularly working with key project stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation, and continuous improvementRequired QualificationsWhat do you bring- Bachelor #39;s degree or diploma in Mine Engineering, Geology, or related field- 3+ years of experience in mining operations- 2+ years of experience in managing exploration and mining projects- Successful record in H amp;S and Environmental mining practices- Proactive and self-driven towards multiple tasks- Strong technical knowledge of mine design and planning- Strong communication skillsCompany SummaryWhy work for usAt Saint-Gobain, our employees have pride in belonging to an organization whose culture is made up of these core values: Trust, Empowerment,amp; Collaboration.
