Job Description

Receiver Dartmouth, Nova ScotiaFull-TimeReference Number: CAN-ATL-DAR-075-040424SUMMARYReporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Receiver is responsible for the daily unloading, receiving, handling, product rotation, optimization of warehouse storage, and workplace safety. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Unloads rail cars, vans and flatbed trailers.
  • Ensures receiving documentation policies and item/product tagging guidelines are followed.
  • Processes and tallies inbound products stocks materials in designated locations.
  • Ensures accuracy of receiving tallies and report any damages or discrepancies.
  • Works closely with the Operations Supervisor to maximize warehouse layout, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiencies.
  • Works closely with the Lead hand to fulfill customer commitments for outbound loads.
  • Works closely with the Shipping and Receiving clerk to coordinate inbound load scheduling.
  • Maintains product rotation, ensuring FIFO flow is in place.
  • Maintains a clean and organized warehouse and yard.
  • Conducts spot inventory counts as required.
  • Identifies safety hazards in the warehouse and yard and provides solutions for improvement.
  • Adheres to customer service commitments.
  • Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Receiving and Inventory Control
  • Forklift training and the ability to operate large forklifts required.
  • Trained in the use of a chainsaw would be considered an asset.
  • Good knowledge of shipping/receiving practices
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have own steel-toed boots.
  • Basic math skills

Work Location:Dartmouth Hours of Work
  • Typically, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Must be flexible with start and finish times
