We are looking for high performing procurement professionals with energy drive and ambition to join our talented team at Irving Shipbuilding, proudly building naval ships for Canada, in North America #39;s most modern shipbuilding facility, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Successful applicants will have a track record of making an impact on the performance of global supply chains and building high performing operational and commercial supplier relationships.This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.   • Education:
o Degree or diploma in business, supply chain, science or engineering or;o Experience in lieu of formal education is accepted - a minimum of 9 years of supply chain experience within the shipbuilding industry
  • Experience:
o A minimum of 7 years of supply chain procurement experience within the shipbuilding industryo Previous experience with New Build Shipbuilding is preferred
  • Demonstrated results leading negotiations and managing high-value, complex contracts
  • The following Supply Chain accreditations would be considered an asset: SCMP, MCIPS or ISM
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Previous exposure to market analytics and insights
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Knowledge of the Federal Government #39;s Procurement policies and terms and conditions of trade
  • Knowledge of industry wide Project Controls systems (analysis of KPI variations, trends and possible impacts to the Program)
  • Previous teaching and mentoring experience
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Key Responsibilities:
  • Integrated sourcing initiatives including:
o Development and implementation of category sourcing strategieso Analysis of market/supply conditions (e.g. availability, pricing, lead-times and capacity)
  • Pre-contract activity including:
o Requirement definition and contracting strategyo Supplier Qualification, tender process, RFI, RFP, RFQ with vendorso Tender evaluations / supplier selection
  • Contract management including:
o Development and execution of contracting plano Negotiation, execution and management of Equipment and Service contracts, direct with Tier 1 and Tier 2 OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)o Supplier Performance management including supplier quality, cost and deliveryo Risk identification and management within contract portfolioo Purchase Order generation in support of strategic supplier activities
  • Continuous improvement activities including:
