Job Description

Dauphin Consumers Co-op is hiring a Human Resources Manager (Term, Maternity Leave) to join our Senior Leadership Team.Who we are: Dauphin Consumers Co-op is part of the Co-operative Retailing System, and a successful multi-million-dollar retail business located in Dauphin and Ste. To learn more about who we are and how you can help bring our brand to life, visit us at www.dauphinco-op.crs.What you’ll do: Reporting to the General Manager, overseeing the HR Advisor, and working closely with all levels of the organization, you will provide direction and coaching to ensure human resource initiatives are implemented. You will execute an effective human resource strategy that aligns with Dauphin Consumers Co-op’s overall goals and objectives, building and sustaining a high performing, engaged, and motivated team. This will include a focus in the following areas:

  • Talent Management: You contribute to the development and implementation of various talent management initiatives. Coaching and assisting the leadership team in recruitment, talent acquisition, and performance management practices is an important role to the position. Guiding the Leadership Team, you are responsible for ensuring engagement, competency development, and professional growth of team members.
  • Employee and Labour Relations: You are responsible for overseeing the collective bargaining process, including participating in negotiations and ensuring the administration of the collective bargaining agreement is being followed. Working directly with the Leadership team, you will provide coaching and assistance with the disciplinary process, formulating communication and provide advice and involvement on meetings when required. You will conduct investigations which include employee interviews/meetings, record keeping, and follow up documentation to ensure transparency throughout the process. Acting in a confidential capacity in matters relating to labour relations is imperative.
Who you are: You are looking for a career in Human Resources and:
  • You have post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • You have a minimum of 2-3 years of progressive human resources experience in a unionized environment.
  • You understand that having a CPHR designation is an asset.
  • As a strong leader, you have a passion for driving engagement and developing talent at all levels of the organization.
  • You balance stakeholders while also directing work and ensuring accountability.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
