Job Description

RITZ Machine Works is a supply chain partner supplying fabricated metal components and assemblies to Original Equipment Manufacturers. We employ over 70 personnel at facilities in Dauphin, MB and Cambridge, MN. We pride ourselves in our customer focus, team approach and innovative solutions.We invite applications for the following position: Human Resources Manager (Dauphin, MB)We are currently seeking a full time Human Resources Manager to join our team in Dauphin. This position offers 40 hours per week with hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday. However, flexible options exist to allow a standard work week, or reduced hours.Job Summary:The Human Resources Manager is responsible for facilitating the processes required to maintain a healthy and capable workforce to fulfill customer requirements.Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruitment, including creation and management of job advertisements
  • Hiring, including evaluating candidates, preliminary interviews, reference checks, facilitating of interviews with managers, creation and management of job offers, and orientation of new employees
  • Work with external payroll provider to facilitate biweekly payment of employees, including verifying hours reported with attendance records and RFID punch clock
  • Manage employee benefits, including group insurance, retirement savings plan, company clothing, and personal protective equipment (PPE) allowances
  • Assist employees with questions regarding payroll, benefits, etc
  • Maintain employee records
  • Maintain vacation schedule
  • Assist managers in employee reviews, including scheduling of periodic employee reviews, providing performance metrics, and participating in reviews
  • Assist managers in navigating difficult situations with employees
  • Maintain human resource metrics, including attendance rates, overtime costs, and turnover rate
  • Work with management to foster a healthy work environment and positive company culture, including employee feedback, industry initiatives, exit interviews, etc
  • Liaise with employment related organizations such as, Statistics Canada, Employment Insurance, Workers Compensation Board, Manitoba Maintenance Enforcement Program, etc
  • Participate in weekly Management Meetings and quarterly Management Review Meetings
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in human resources role
  • Well organized with strong time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Education in Business, Human Resources, or similar program would be an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial employment standard and relevant legislation would be an asset
