As a member of Maple Leaf Foods Inc., we offer excellent opportunities for career-minded individuals.MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – Dauphin, MBDauphin, MB Area – 6 Month Term PositionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing general maintenance support for our hog barns and will be based out of the Dauphin, MB area. Travel will be required throughout the province of MB with the possibility of occasional travel to SK.RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral carpentryDrywall repairs, paintingBasic plumbingMoving furniture and equipmentCleaning and organizingBasic welding of stalls and cratesInstallation of equipment such as feed and water lines and animal stallsPreventative maintenance to generators, tractors and other equipmentActive contribution to the preventative maintenance program by submitting recommendations for improvementDocument and record all finished and unfinished scheduled work ordersSeek out and apply best practices as solutions to correct deficienciesConduct assessments and/or audits of facilities and/or equipmentMinimize production downtime by responding to production calls promptlyProvide on the job training to barn staff and other employeesOther related duties as assignedEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:Grade 12 diplomaTrades related post-secondary education is preferredThorough working knowledge of general computer programs (Microsoft Office, Excel)Ability to lift 25 kgsOne to three years related experience in general maintenanceA valid driver’s license and the ability to travel (including overnighting) within business operationSelf-directed/motivated team playerAttention to detailAbility to work in a livestock farm (hogs) atmosphereAbility to adhere to all Biosecurity requirementsKnowledge of Health and Safety regulationsThe ability to work at various heights and in confined spacesAn ability to live and teach our Maple Leaf Leadership ValuesPlease submit resume to:Email: mlafjobs@mapleleaf.comWe thank all applicants for their interest in exploring employment opportunities with Maple Leaf Foods; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
